Oil Seal

Check oil seal lip for defects and damage. Replace it if necessary.

Oil Pump

Check outer rotor (1), inner rotor (2), rotor plate and timing chain cover for excessive wear or damage.

Radial clearance

Check radial clearance between outer rotor (1) and case (2) using feeler gauge (3).

If clearance is out of specification, replace oil pump assembly.

Standard: 0.265 – 0.335 mm (0.0104 – 0.0131 in.)

Limit: 0.210 mm (0.0082 in.)

Side clearance

Using straightedge (1) and feeler gauge (2), measure side clearance.

If side clearance is out of specification, replace oil pump assembly.

Standard: 0.02 – 0.07 mm (0.0007 – 0.0027 in.)

Limit: 0.120 mm (0.0047 in.)
