Coolant Level Check

Before performing the following procedure, observe Precautions for Cooling System:D16AA.
To check level, lift hood and look at “see-through” degassing tank (1).
It is not necessary to remove degassing tank cap (2) to check coolant level.
When engine is cool, check coolant level in degassing tank.
Coolant level should be between “FULL” mark (3) and “LOW” mark (4) on degassing tank.
If coolant level is below “LOW” mark, remove degassing tank cap and add recommended coolant to tank to bring coolant level up to “FULL” mark. After refilling, install degassing tank cap by turning it clockwise to stop.
NOTE:
If proper quality antifreeze is used, there is no need to add extra additives that claim to improve system. They may be harmful to proper operation of system, and are unnecessary expense.
