Front Brake Caliper Inspection

NOTE:
Perform this inspection in the following cases.
•When replacing front brake pads with new ones.
•When checking thickness of front brake pads.
•Before reassembling front brake caliper.
•When checking thickness of front brake pads.
•Before reassembling front brake caliper.
Caliper Body and Carrier
Check brake caliper body and carrier for deformation, crack, damage and rust. Replace front brake caliper and carrier if defective.
Cylinder Boot
Check cylinder boot (1) for break, crack and brake fluid leakage. Replace cylinder boot if defective.
Slide Pin
Check that slide pins (1) move smoothly in axial directions before installing front brake caliper to caliper carrier (2). Replace slide pins and pin boots if check result is not OK.
