Clutch Cover and Clutch Disc Inspection

Clutch Disc

Using vernier caliper (2), measure thickness of clutch disc (1).

If thickness is found to have reached service limit, replace clutch disc.

Clutch disc thickness

Standard: 7.15 – 7.55 mm (0.28 – 0.30 in.)

Limit: 5.15 mm (0.20 in)

Clutch Cover

Check clutch cover noting the following points.

1)Check diaphragm spring (1) for abnormal wear or damage.

2)Check pressure plate (2) for wear or heat spots.

3)Replace clutch cover if defective.
Do not disassemble it into diaphragm spring and pressure plate.
