Steering Angle Sensor Removal and Installation

NOTE:
If you rotate the rotor of the steering angle sensor with the sensor removed, DTC may be set even though the steering angle sensor status is normal.
Do not rotate the rotor when removing and installing the steering angle sensor.
Removal
1)Remove steering wheel. 
2)Remove contact coil assembly.
3)Center the contact coil assembly.
4)Remove steering angle sensor (2) from contact coil assembly (3) while opening fitting engagement hooks (1) of contact coil assembly.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Install steering angle sensor to contact coil after performing centering of contact coil assembly.
•Do not rotate rotor of removed steering angle sensor (2) until steering angle sensor is reinstalled to contact coil (1).
•Do not rotate rotor of removed steering angle sensor (2) until steering angle sensor is reinstalled to contact coil (1).
NOTE:
•Fit wide groove (3) to wide projection (4) and narrow groove (5) to narrow projection (6).A new steering angle sensor is secured by a lock pin. After installing new steering angle sensor to contact coil, remove the lock pin from the steering angle sensor.
