Removal

1)Remove steering gear case assembly.

2)Push out steering gear case bushing (1) using hydraulic press (2) and special tools.

(B): 09943–88211

Installation

1)Press-fit new steering gear case bushing (1) using special tools and hydraulic press (2), noting the following points.

NOTE:

Before installing bushing, apply soapy water on its circumference to facilitate installation.

•Install rack side bushing (2) with oblong hole to rack side hole of steering gear case so that oblong hole is in parallel with steering gear case within “a” range as shown.

[A]:	Vehicle forward	“a”:	20°
[B]:	LHD	1.	Pinion side bushing
[C]:	RHD

•Press bushings (1) into steering gear case until dimensions “a” and “b” in figure become equal.

2)Install steering gear case assembly.
