HINGE

REMOVAL

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the door to replace the hinges if they are replaced one at a time.

NOTE: A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.


1. Open the front door.

UPPER HINGE




1. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hinge on the door and B-pillar.
2. Remove the nuts (1) attaching the hinge to the door (7).



3. Remove the bolts (3) attaching the hinge (2) to the B-pillar (1) and remove the hinge.

LOWER HINGE




1. Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the hinge (3) on the door and B-pillar.
2. Remove the nuts (1) attaching the hinge to the door (7).



3. Remove the two bolts (4) attaching the hinge (5) to the B-pillar (1).

INSTALLATION


UPPER HINGE



NOTE: A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.


1. Install the nuts (2) and tighten to 13 N·m (9.5 ft. lbs.).



2. Install the two hinge to B-pillar bolts (3).
3. Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).
4. Adjust the door if needed,
(Refer to 23 - BODY/DOORS - REAR/DOOR - ADJUSTMENTS).

LOWER HINGE



NOTE: A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.


1. Install the hinge (5) and install the B-pillar bolts (4).
2. Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).



3. Install the hinge to door nuts (1) and tighten to 13 N·m (9.5 ft. lbs.).
4. Adjust the door if needed,
(Refer to 23 - BODY/DOORS - REAR/DOOR - ADJUSTMENTS).
