U0300-INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE INCOMPATIBILITY

When Monitored:
Ignition on and battery voltage greater than 10 volts.

Set Condition:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software is incorrect.
Possible Causes |

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
PCM PROGRAMMED WITH INCORRECT SOFTWARE
| 1. | Ignition on, engine not running. |
| 2. | Program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure). |
| 3. | Start the engine. |
| 4. | Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. |
| 5. | With a scan tool, select read the active DTCs. |
Does the scan tool display U0300-INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE INCOMPATIBILITY?
Yes
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to 08 - Electrical/8E - Electronic Control Modules/MODULE, Powertrain Control - Removal) .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been successfully programmed. Test is complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
