INSULATOR, Engine Mount, Rear

REMOVAL

1. Remove the nuts and the rear engine mount isolator (2).

 
2. On 4x4 vehicles If required, remove the bolts and the rear engine mount bracket (1).
   
   

 
3. On 4x2 vehicles if required, remove four bolts (1) and the rear engine mount bracket (2).
   

 

MANUAL TRANSMISSION

1. Raise and support the vehicle (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick Reference/Hoisting - Standard Procedure) .

 
2. Using a suitable jack stand and a block of wood positioned under the transfer case, raise the transmission until the weight is off of the isolator.

 
3. Remove the skid plate and transmission crossmember (7) (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Frame/CROSSMEMBER - Removal) .
   
   

 
4. Remove the nuts and the rear engine mount isolator (1).

 
5. If required, remove the bolts and the rear engine mount bracket (2).
   

 

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

1. Raise and support the vehicle (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick Reference/Hoisting - Standard Procedure) .

 
2. Using a suitable jack stand and a block of wood positioned under the transfer case, raise the transmission until the weight is off of the isolator.

 
3. Remove the skid plate and transmission crossmember (7) (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Frame/CROSSMEMBER - Removal) .
   

 

INSTALLATION

MANUAL TRANSMISSION

1. If removed, install the rear engine mount bracket (2) to the transmission. Tighten the bolts to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.).

 
2. Install the rear engine mount isolator (1) to the rear engine mount bracket (2). Tighten the nuts to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.).
   
   

 
3. Install the transmission crossmember (7) and skid plate (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Frame/CROSSMEMBER - Installation) .
   

 

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

1. On 4x2 vehicles if removed, install the rear engine mount bracket (2) with four bolts (1) tightened to 33 N·m (24 ft. lbs.).
   
   

 
2. On 4x4 vehicles if removed, install the rear engine mount bracket (1) to the transmission. Tighten the bolts to 54 N·m (40 ft. lbs.).

 
3. Install the rear engine mount isolator (2) to the rear engine mount bracket (1). Tighten the nuts to 28 N·m (21 ft. lbs.).
   
   

 
4. Install the transmission crossmember (7) and skid plate (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Frame/CROSSMEMBER - Installation) .
