DESCRIPTION

The swivel actuator receives the signal from the AFS ECU to operate and sends the signal regarding the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

3. Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.

4. Select the "ACTIVE TEST" on the intelligent tester.

5. Check swivel motor operates with the intelligent tester.

2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

1. Disconnect the B12 and B2 headlight assembly connectors.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard resistance:

   LH Side (B2412):

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY - AFS ECU)

1. Disconnect the A28 AFS ECU connector.

2. Disconnect the B12 and B2 headlight connectors.

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard resistance:

4. CHECK AFS ECU

1. Disconnect the B12 and B2 headlight connectors.

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard voltage:

   LH Side (B2412):

   	Engine switch on (IG)	4.5 to 5.5 V

5. REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

1. Temporarily replace the headlight assembly with a new or normally functioning one.

2. Check that headlight assembly operates.

   OK:

   Return to normal operation.
