- Disconnect the negative battery cable, and drain
the cooling system.
- Remove the fresh air duct, and the shroud upper panel.
- Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts and remove
the shroud from the radiator.
- Remove the mounting nut, and remove the fan from
the fan motor.

Remove the mounting bolts, and remove the fan motor from the shroud.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts.
- Install the fan onto the fan motor. Apply a locking
compound on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut.
- Install the shroud onto the radiator.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the shroud upper panel, and the fresh air
duct.
- Properly fill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Remove the upper seal board and radiator grille.
- Remove the hood safety lever.
- Disconnect the coolant reservoir and upper and lower
radiator hoses. If equipped with automatic transaxle, disconnect the oil
cooler lines and plug the hoses.
- Disconnect the electric cooling fan connector.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts, and remove
the shroud from the radiator. Move the assembly to the side of the engine
to gain clearance space.
- Remove the radiator brackets.
- Lift and remove the radiator from the vehicle.
- Remove the cooling fan from the vehicle. Remove the
mounting nut, and remove the fan blade from the fan motor.

Remove the mounting bolts, and remove the fan motor from the shroud.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts.
- Install the fan blade onto the fan motor. Apply a
locking compound on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut.
- Install the radiator, making sure the lower tank
engages the insulators.
- Install the radiator brackets. Tighten the mounting
bolts to 70-95 inch lbs. (8-11 Nm).
- Install the fan and shroud assembly. Tighten the
mounting bolts to 70-95 inch lbs. (8-11 Nm).
- Unplug and connect the cooler lines, if required.
- Reattach the wiring harness to the routing clips,
and install the upper and lower radiator hoses to the radiator.
- Connect the overflow tube to the radiator, and connect
the cooling fan wiring connector.
- Install the hood safety lever. Tighten the mounting
bolts to 70-95 inch lbs. (8-11 Nm).
- Install the radiator grille and upper seal board.
- Close the radiator drain valve and fill the system
with coolant. Install the pressure cap to the first stop only.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Start the engine
and run it at fast idle until the upper radiator hose feels warm, indicating
the thermostat has opened and coolant is flowing throughout the system.
- Stop the engine. Carefully remove the radiator cap
and top off the radiator with coolant, if required.
- Install the radiator cap securely and fill the coolant
reservoir to the FULL mark.
- Run the engine and check for leaks.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the fresh air duct.
- Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connectors.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts and remove
the shroud from the radiator.
- Remove the mounting nuts and remove the cooling fan.

Remove the mounting bolts and remove the fan motor.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts. Torque the cooling fan motor mounting bolts to 16-19
in lbs. (1.8-2.1 Nm).
- Install the fan onto the motor. Apply a locking compound
on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut. Torque the cooling
fan nut 24-32 in. lbs. (2.7-3.7 Nm).
- Install the shroud onto the radiator.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the fresh air duct.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the
cooling system.
- Remove the fresh air duct.
- Remove the radiator.
- Disconnect the cooling fan and condenser fan electrical
connectors.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts and remove
the shroud from the radiator.
- Remove the mounting nuts and remove the condenser
and cooling fans.

Remove the mounting bolts and remove the fan motors.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts. Torque the condenser fan mounting bolts to 35-43 in.
lbs. (4.0-4.9 Nm). Torque the cooling fan motor mounting bolts to 16-19
in lbs. (1.8-2.1 Nm).
- Install the fans onto each motor. Apply a locking
compound on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut. Torque the
condenser fan nut to 14-21 in. lbs. (1.5-2.4 Nm). Torque the cooling fan
nut 38.46 in. lbs. (4.3-5.1 Nm).
- Install the shroud onto the radiator.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the radiator and the fresh air duct.
- Properly fill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system.
- If equipped, remove the right-hand splash shield.
- If necessary, remove the charge air cooler.
- If necessary, remove the radiator grill.
- Remove the upper seal board.
- Disconnect the coolant reservoir hose. Remove the
coolant reservoir.
- Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts and remove
the shroud from the radiator.
- Remove the mounting nut and remove the fan from the
fan motor.

Remove the mounting bolts and remove the fan motor from the shroud.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts.
- Install the fan onto the fan motor. Apply a locking
compound on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut.
- Install the shroud onto the radiator.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the coolant reservoir. Connect the coolant
reservoir hose.
- Install the upper seal board.
- If removed, install the radiator grill.
- If removed, install the charge air cooler.
- If equipped, install the right-hand splash shield.
- Properly fill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable, and drain
the cooling system.
- Remove the air intake pipe.
- Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Remove the shroud (cowling) mounting bolts and remove
the shroud from the radiator.
- Remove the mounting nut, and remove the fan from
the fan motor.

Remove the mounting bolts, and remove the fan motor from the shroud.
To install:
- Position the fan motor on the shroud and install
the mounting bolts, torque to 35-43 in. lbs. (4.0-4.9 Nm).
- Install the fan onto the fan motor. Apply a locking
compound on the mounting nut, and install the mounting nut. Torque the
nut to 14-21 in. lbs. (1.5-2.4 Nm).
- Install the shroud onto the radiator.
- Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
- Install the air intake pipe.
- Properly fill the cooling system.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the attaching screws from the radiator cowling.
- Remove the center attaching screw from each coolant
fan and remove the fans.
- Remove the three attaching bolts from both of the
coolant fan motors.
- Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
