Crankshaft Pulley

Removal & Installation

2.4L Engine

To Remove:

Crankshaft pulley (2.4L)

  1. Remove the engine mount bracket.
  2. Remove the drive belt (power steering oil pump and A/C compressor).
  3. Remove the drive belt (generator).
  4. Remove the water pump pulley.
  5. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

To Install:

Crankshaft pulley (2.4L)

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley.
  2. Install the water pump pulley.
  3. Install the drive belt (generator).
  4. Install the drive belt (power steering oil pump and A/C compressor).
  5. Install the engine mount bracket.
3.0L Engine

To Remove:

Crankshaft pulley (3.0L)

  1. Remove the drive belt tensioner.
  2. Use a flywheel stopper (special tool #MD998781) to hold the flywheel or drive plate, then remove the crankshaft bolt and washer.
  3. Remove the crankshaft pulley washer.
  4. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

To Install:

Crankshaft pulley (3.0L)

  1. Install the crankshaft pulley.
  2. Install the crankshaft pulley washer.
  3. When installing the crankshaft bolt, do the following:
  4. Install the drive belt tensioner.
