Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve

Removal & Installation

2.0L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
3. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.

To Install:

1. Clean the mounting surface.
2. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
3. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
4. Install the air cleaner assembly.

2.0L Turbo Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the strut tower brace.
2. Remove the charge air cooler hose.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
4. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.

To Install:

1. Clean the mounting surface.
2. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
3. Connect the vacuum hoses to the EGR valve.
4. Install the charge air cooler hose.
5. Install the strut tower brace.

2.4L Engine

To Remove:

1. Remove the air cleaner duct and resonator.
2. Disconnect the connector from the EGR valve.
3. Remove the EGR valve and gasket.

To Install:

1. Install the EGR valve with a new gasket.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the EGR valve.
3. Install the air cleaner duct and resonator.
