Heater Unit, Heater Core, Blower Assembly & Evaporator

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the floor console.
4. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
5. Remove the steering column.
6. Remove the front seat assembly.
7. Remove the strut tower brace.
8. Remove the battery and air cleaner body.
9. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
10. Disconnect and cap the refrigerant hoses from the evaporator.
11. Remove the rear heater ducts.
12. Remove the junction block.
13. Remove the ETACS-ECU.
14. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
15. Remove the crossmember assembly.
16. Remove the heater unit.

NOTE: Disassemble the heater unit to service the heater core or evaporator.

To Install:

1. Install the heater unit.
2. Install the crossmember assembly.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Install the ETACS-ECU.
5. Install the junction block.
6. Install the rear heater ducts.
7. Connect the refrigerant hoses to the evaporator.
8. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core.
9. Install the battery and air cleaner body.
10. Install the strut tower brace.
11. Install the front seat assembly.
12. Install the steering column.
13. Install the instrument panel assembly.
14. Install the floor console.
15. Refill the cooling system.
16. Evacuate and charge the A/C system.
