Heater Unit & Crossmember Assembly

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
3. Remove the floor console.
4. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
5. Remove the kick panel trim.
6. Remove the steering column.
7. If equipped, remove the strut tower brace.
8. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
9. Disconnect the refrigerant hoses from the evaporator.
10. Remove the instrument panel under cover.
11. Remove the front deck stay.
12. Remove the crossmember assembly.
13. Remove the heater unit.

NOTE: Disassembly the heater unit to service the heater core or evaporator.

To Install:

1. Install the heater unit.
2. Install the crossmember assembly.
3. Install the front deck stay.
4. Install the instrument panel under cover.
5. Connect the refrigerant hoses to the evaporator.
6. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core.
7. If equipped, install the strut tower brace.
8. Install the steering column.
9. Install the kick panel trim.
10. Install the instrument panel assembly.
11. Install the floor console.
12. Drain the engine coolant.
13. Evacuate and charge the A/C system.
14. Check for leaks.
