To remove the EGR temperature sensor, unplug the EGR temperature sensor harness connector and, using a wrench, loosen the EGR temperature sensor from its boss. Make sure the wrench is correctly applied to the faces of the EGR temperature sensor. Remove the sensor along with its harness.
To replace, thread the harness back into its original position. Apply some thread sealant to the threads and screw the sensor into the mounting boss. Make certain not to crossthread the sensor. Tighten the sensor to 7–9 ft. lbs. (10–12 Nm).
