REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
 
 
Pre-removal and Post-installation Operation
  • Engine Room Under Cover Front A, B and Engine Room Side Cover (RH) Removal and Installation (Refer to GROUP 51 - Under Cover ).
  • Engine Coolant Draining and Refilling (Refer to GROUP 14 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Coolant Replacement ).
  • Engine Oil Draining and Refilling (Refer to GROUP 12 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Oil Replacement ).
  • Engine Cover Removal (Refer to GROUP 11A - Engine Cover ).
  • Intercooler Intake Air Hose A Removal and Installation (Refer to ).
  • Air Cleaner Assembly Removal and Installation (Refer to ).
  • Front Exhaust Pipe Removal and Installation (Refer to ).
  • Strut Tower Bar Removal and Installation (Refer to GROUP 42A - Strut Tower Bar ).

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
 
 
>>A<< TURBOCHARGER GASKET/ TURBOCHARGER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
 
1.
note
  • When retighten the turbocharger assembly, remove the rust or foreign material attached on the flange surface.
  • If the turbocharger assembly mounting surface is uneven, polish the surface with sandpaper and then tighten the nuts to install the turbocharger assembly to the cylinder head.
Install the turbocharger gasket as its projection is in the direction shown.
2. Tighten the nuts to specified torque in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Tightening torque: 24 ± 4 N·m
3. Tighten the nuts again to specified torque in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Tightening torque: 42 ± 4 N·m

 
 
 
>>B<< TURBOCHARGER BRACKET INSTALLATION
 
1. Tighten the bolts to temporally in the sequence shown in the illustration.
2. Tighten the bolts to specified torque in the sequence shown in the illustration.
Tightening torque: 27 ± 2 N·m

 
 
 
>>C< OIL RETURN PIPE GASKET INSTALLATION
 
Install the oil return pipe gasket as its projection is in the direction shown.

 
 
 
>>D<< OIL PIPE ASSMBLY/GASKET/EYE BOLT INSTALLATION
1. Temporally tighten the oil pipe assembly mounting eye bolts
2. Temporally tighten the clamp mounting bolts.
3. Tighten the oil pipe assembly mounting eye bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 17 ± 2 N·m
4. Tighten the clamp mounting bolts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 9.5 ± 2.5 N·m
 
 
>>E<< GASKET INSTALLATION
 
Install the gasket as its projection is in the direction shown.
