caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • When the diagnosis code No.U119A is set in AWC-ECU, the diagnosis code may also be set in ETACS-ECU. When the diagnosis code is set in ETACS-ECU, perform the diagnosis of the diagnosis code for ETACS-ECU first.
 
 
OPERATION
The AWC-ECU gains a chassis number (vehicle identification), which is stored in the engine-ECU, via the CAN bus lines.
 
 
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
This diagnosis code will be set when the engine-ECU sends an invalid chassis number.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the CAN bus line
  • Chassis number not written
  • Malfunction of engine-ECU
  • Malfunction of ETACS-ECU
  • Malfunction of AWC-ECU
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics.
Use M.U.T.-IIISE to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code.
Check the engine diagnosis code (Refer to GROUP 13A -Troubleshooting ).
Is the diagnosis code set?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code.
Check the ETACS diagnosis code (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting ).
Is the diagnosis code set?
Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 4.
 
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Is diagnosis code No.U119A set?
Replace the AWC-ECU (Refer to ).
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
