OPERATION
When the clearance warning control unit recognises that the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch is turned on for at least one minute, the ECU sets diagnosis code No. C2224.
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
The condition below is satisfied:
  • The forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch is turned on for at least one minute.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of CAN bus
  • Malfunction of forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch
  • Malfunction of ASC-ECU
  • Malfunction of clearance warning control unit
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics
Use the M.U.T.-IIISE to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE data list.
Check the ASC-ECU system data list (Refer to GROUP 35C - Data List Reference Table ).
  • Operate the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch.

Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Check of short to earth circuit in FCMS line between the ASC-ECU connector and forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch connector.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
 
STEP 4. Check the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch.

Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch (Refer to ).
 
STEP 5. M.U.T.-IIISE data list.
Check the ASC-ECU system data list (Refer to GROUP 35C - Data List Reference Table ).
  • Operate the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch.

Replace the ASC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 35C - Hydraulic Unit ).

Check the input signal (Refer to ).
  • Operate the forward collision mitigation system (FCM) and ultrasonic misacceleration mitigation system ON/OFF switch.
