OPERATION
The clearance warning control unit sets diagnosis code No. C2245 when it receives an invalid or unfeasible vehicle speed signal from the ASC-ECU.
 
 
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
Any of the conditions below is satisfied:
  • An invalid vehicle speed signal persists for at least 1.5 seconds.
  • An abnormal vehicle speed signal persists.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of CAN bus
  • Malfunction of ASC system (Vehicle speed sensor)
  • Malfunction of clearance warning control unit
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-IIISE CAN bus diagnostics
Use the M.U.T.-IIISE to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
 
STEP 2. M.U.T.-IIISE other system diagnosis code
Check whether the ASC system diagnosis codes are set or not.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Diagnose the ASC system (GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ).
Go to Step 3.
 
STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the clearance warning control unit.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3) Check if diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the ASC-ECU, and then go to Step 4.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
 
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the clearance warning control unit.
(1) Erase the diagnosis code.
(2) Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3) Check if diagnosis code is set.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the clearance warning control unit (Refer to ).
