REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Vacuum Solenoid Valve
Disconnect the vacuum solenoid wiring from the coolant temperature switch.
Remove the EGR vacuum hose from the carburetor throttle port.
Remove its two securing screws and take the solenoid off the intake manifold.
Be sure to connect the coolant temperature switch wiring after the vacuum solenoid is installed.
EGR Valve
Detach the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
Remove the two nuts which secure the EGR bracket and valve to the intake manifold.
Remove the valve, bracket and gasket from the manifold.
Tighten the EGR valve securing nuts to 17–19 ft. lbs. (23–25 Nm)

Coolant Temperature Switch
Disconnect the leads which run to the coolant temperature switch.
Use an open–end wrench to unscrew the switch from the intake manifold water passage.
Remove the temperature switch, complete with gasket.
Tighten the switch to 17–19 ft. lbs. (23–25 Nm)
