ADJUSTMENT

ff–1 and 1300G Models
  1. Pull the parking brake lever up forcefully. Release it and repeat several times.
  2. It should take 7–8 notches to apply the parking brake.

  3. Loosen the locknut on the turnbuckle and adjust the length of the cable, so that the parking brake is applied within specifications.
  4. Tighten the locknut and recheck operation of the parking brake lever.
Except ff–1 and 1300G Models

The parking brake adjusting procedure is similar to that given above for ff–1 and 1300G models. Adjust the number of ratchet notches necessary to apply the parking brake to the following specifications:

Adjust the cable by loosening the lock and turning the cable adjusting nut. Tighten the adjusting nut to 36–48 inch lbs. (4–5 Nm). Make sure the front wheels turn freely when the handbrake is released.
