Brake Disc (Rotor)

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Raise the vehicle and support it with jackstands.
  2. Remove the front wheel, handbrake cable, guides, caliper and caliper support in the same manner as outlined in this section.
  3. Safety wire the caliper to a suspension member, so that it is out of the way.
  4. Unfasten the two bolts which hold the caliper bracket to the housing and remove the bracket from the housing.
  5. Remove the axle shaft nut and pull the disc off the axle shaft with a puller.
  6. Remove the 4 bolts which hold the disc to the hub.
  7. Reverse the above process to install the rotor.
  8. Tighten caliper bracket bolts to 36–51 ft. lbs. (48–69 Nm).
