Combination Switch

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Without an Air Bag
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering wheel.
  3. On some models the knee bolster may need to be removed.
  4. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers.
  5. Remove the combination switch mounting screws.
  6. Disconnect the electrical harness from the combination switch.
  7. Remove the combination switch assembly.
  8. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all components securely.
With Air Bag

CAUTION
The air bag system must be disarmed before removing the steering wheel. Failure to do so may cause accidental deployment, property damage or personal injury.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the lower instrument panel.
  3. Remove the steering wheel.

    CAUTION
    Always carry an air bag assembly, with the bag and trim cover, away from your body. Store the assembly facing upward; never place the assembly face down on any surface.

  4. Disconnect the combination switch electrical harnesses from the body harness connector.
  5. Remove the steering column covers.
  6. Remove the 2 retaining screws and combination switch.
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal. Secure all wiring and components.
  8. Check the air bag warning lamp for proper operation.
