Compressor

TESTING

Sedan, Coupe, Loyale, Wagon and Brat
  1. Verify that there is approximately 12 volts at the compressor wire harness for the motor.
  2. Ground the L wire (marked on the harness at the compressor) at the compressor and verify that the compressor motor operates.
  3. If not as specified, replace the compressor.
XT
  1. Verify that there is approximately 12 volts at the compressor wire harness for the motor.
  2. Ground the LW wire (marked on the harness at the compressor) at the compressor and verify that the compressor motor operates.
  3. If not as specified, replace the compressor.
Legacy

  1. Disconnect the wire harness from the compressor.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, verify that the resistance between terminals 1 and 3 is 2.5–3.5 ohms.
  3. Apply 12 volts to terminals 1 and 3, and verify the compressor operates.
  4. If not as specified, replace the compressor.
