Clutch Master Cylinder

Removal & Installation

To Remove:

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions at the beginning of this section.
2. Drain the brake fluid from reservoir tank.
3. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Snap pin, clevis pin and separate the push rod of master cylinder from clutch pedal
   • Air cleaner case and air intake duct (non-turbo models)
   • Intercooler (turbo models)

   • Clutch pipe from master cylinder
   • Master cylinder with reservoir tank

CAUTION
Be extremely careful not to spill brake fluid. Brake fluid spilt on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; immediately flush away with water.

To Install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   • Master cylinder to body
   • Clutch pipe to master cylinder
     1. T1 - Torque to: 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm)
     2. T2 - Torque to: 13 ft. lbs. (18 Nm)

     CAUTION
     Check that the pipe is routed properly.

     Note: Apply a coating of grease to the clevis pin.

   • Push rod of master cylinder to clutch pedal, and install the new clevis pin and snap pin
2. After bleeding air from the system, ensure that clutch operates properly.
3. Install or connect the following:
   • Install the air cleaner case and air intake duct (non-turbo models)
   • Intercooler (turbo models)
