P0087: Fuel Rail / System Pressure – Too Low Measured fuel rail pressure is far below targeted fuel rail pressure for specified time. (1 D/C detection logic)	•Fuel pressure sensor •Low fuel pressure circuit (fuel pressure regulator in fuel pump, fuel pump and/or its circuit, fuel filter, fuel hose, fuel pipe) •High fuel pressure circuit (high pressure fuel pump, fuel rail, high pressure pipe, fuel injector) •ECM
P0088: Fuel Rail / System Pressure – Too High Measured fuel rail pressure is far above targeted fuel rail pressure for specified time. (1 D/C detection logic)

DTC Confirmation Procedure

WARNING:

If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.

•Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
•Perform the test extremely carefully.
•Perform the road test with 2 persons, a driver and a tester.

NOTE:

•Check that the following condition is met in this “DTC Confirmation Procedure”.

—Battery voltage < 16 V

•Check that the following DTCs are not detected in this “DTC Confirmation Procedure”.

—Fuel pressure sensor (P0192 and P0193)

1)Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.

2)Drive vehicle at 50 to 80 km/h (31 to 50 mile/h) constantly for 5 min. or more.

2	Low fuel pressure circuit check 1)Check low fuel pressure circuit. Is check result OK?	Go to Step 3.	Repair or replace defective part(s).
3	High fuel pressure circuit check 1)Check high fuel pressure circuit. Is check result OK?	Replace ECM and recheck DTC.	Repair or replace defective part(s).
