EVAP Canister Inspection
Precautions: General safety (00)
If you suck at the nozzle on the EVAP canister by mistake, you will inhale harmful fuel vapor that may be present inside the canister.
Never suck at any of the nozzles on the EVAP canister.
1)Check outside of EVAP canister visually.
2)Disconnect vacuum hoses from EVAP canister.
3)Check that there is no restriction of flow through purge port (1) and air port (2) when air is blown (4) into tank port (3).
4)Check EVAP canister for air leakage according to the following procedure.
a)Plug purge port (1) and air port (2) using rubber plug (3).
c)Using special tool, apply specified vacuum pressure to EVAP canister for one minute.
If faulty condition is found, replace EVAP canister.EVAP canister holding vacuum pressure
10.0 kPa (0.1 kgf/cm2, 1.45 psi, 0.1 bar)
