Heat Exchanger No.1 Removal and Installation

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Remove oil filter.

3)Drain coolant.

4)Disconnect water hoses (1) from heat exchanger No.1 (2).

5)Disconnect connectors from oil pressure switch-1 (3) and oil pressure switch-2 (4).

6)Remove oil pressure switch-1 and oil pressure switch-2, if necessary.

7)Remove heat exchanger No.1 bolt (5) and then remove heat exchanger No.1 and gaskets.

Installation

1)Install heat exchanger No.1 (1) with new gasket.

Tightening torque

Heat exchanger No.1 bolt (c): 45 N·m (4.6 kgf-m, 33.5 lbf-ft)

2)Install oil pressure switch-1 and oil pressure switch-2, if removed.

Tightening torque

Oil pressure switch-1 (a): 26 N·m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.5 lbf-ft)
Oil pressure switch-2 (b): 20 N·m (2.0 kgf-m, 15.0 lbf-ft)

3)Connect water hoses (2) to heat exchanger No.1.

4)Connect connectors to oil pressure switch-1 (3) and oil pressure switch-2 (4).

5)Install oil filter.

6)Connect negative (–) cable at battery.

7)Check oil level.

8)Refill cooling system with coolant.

9)Start engine and then check coolant and oil leakage at each connection.
