Fuel Pipe Removal and Installation

Before performing the following procedure, observe Precautions for Fuel System Service:M16A.

Removal

1)Relieve fuel pressure from fuel feed line.

2)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

3)Remove right main floor undercover.

4)Remove fuel pipe protector (1).

5)Disconnect fuel hoses (2) from fuel pipes (3) at both front and rear ends of each fuel pipe.

6)Mark the location of clamps (4) on fuel pipes (3), so that the clamps can be reinstalled to the original position.

7)Remove clamps (4) from vehicle body and fuel pipes.

NOTICE:

Fuel pipes may be bent or damaged if you are not careful when unclamping them.

Properly support fuel pipes when removing clamps.

8)Remove fuel pipes.

Installation

1)Install clamps to marked position on pipes. If clamp is deformed or has bent or broken claws, replace it with new one.

2)Install pipes with clamp to vehicle.

3)Connect fuel hoses to pipes.

4)Connect negative (–) cable at battery.

5)With engine stopped, set ignition “ON” and check for fuel leakage.

6)Install fuel pipe protector.

7)Install right main floor undercover.
