Common Rail Removal and Installation

Before performing the following procedure, observe Precautions for Fuel System Service:D16AA.

Removal

1)Release fuel pressure.

2)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

3)Remove engine cover.

4)Remove high pressure pipes.

5)Disconnect connector (1) from fuel pressure sensor.

a)Move connector lock pin (1) in arrow direction as shown in figure.

b)Push connector lock lever (2) and disconnect connector from fuel pressure sensor (3).

6)Remove common rail (4).

Installation

1)Install common rail (2) and tighten common rail bolts to specified torque.

Tightening torque

Common rail bolt (a): 26 N·m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.5 lbf-ft)

2)Connect connector (1) to fuel pressure sensor.

3)Install new high pressure pipes.

4)Install engine cover.

5)Connect negative (–) cable at battery.

6)Check for fuel leakage.

7)When replacing common rail, initialize fuel injection system part parameter in ECM.
