Generator Removal and Installation

Removal

1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.

2)Remove right front fender lining.

3)Remove water pump / generator drive belt.

4)Disconnect “B” terminal wire (1) and connector (2) from generator (3).

5)Hoist vehicle.

6)Remove generator.

Installation

Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.

•Install generator bolt (1) and generator pivot bolt (2) to generator.
•Connect wire (3) to generator as shown in figure, and tighten “B” terminal nut to specified torque.

Tightening torque

“B” terminal nut (a): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)

•Adjust belt tension.
