Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation

Removal
NOTICE:
Applying a shock to the exhaust manifold may cause damage to the three-way catalytic converter inside the exhaust manifold.
Handle the exhaust manifold carefully. Be careful not to drop it or hit it against something.
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2)Remove air cleaner assembly. 
3)Remove clamp (1).
4)Disconnect HO2S-1 (2) and HO2S-2 (3) connectors and then detach from their bracket.
5)Remove HO2S-1 (4) and HO2S-2 (5), if necessary.
6)Remove exhaust manifold cover (1).
7)Remove exhaust No.1 pipe bolts (1) from exhaust manifold.
8)Remove exhaust manifold stiffener.
9)Remove engine hook (1).
10)Remove exhaust manifold (2) and its gasket (3) from cylinder head.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Use new gasket.
•Use new clamp.
•Tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.
•Install HO2S-1 and HO2S-2, if removed.
•Run engine and check for exhaust gas leakage.
•Use new clamp.
•Tighten bolts and nuts to specified torque.
•Install HO2S-1 and HO2S-2, if removed.
•Run engine and check for exhaust gas leakage.
