Precautions for Wheel and Tire Servicing
Precautions: Precautions for Emergency Flat Tire Repair Kit (If Equipped) · Precautions for Suspension · General safety (00)
Using tires of different types such as radial, bias and bias-belted tires on the same vehicle may increase stress on drivetrain components. In addition, as this affects vehicle handling, there is an increased risk of loss of control and an accident.
Do not mix different type tires on the same vehicle except in an emergency.
•Repairs by any means including welding, heating or peening are not permitted. All damaged wheels should be replaced.
•There are two types of vehicle, one with TPMS and the other without TPMS. Check which type of vehicle is being serviced, referring to Identification of Vehicle with TPMS before servicing its tires or wheels. Failure to follow the specified procedure when servicing tires or wheels of a vehicle equipped with TPMS may cause damage to the tire pressure sensors.

For Vehicle with TPMS
•As the wheels have tire pressure sensors, they differ in shape from wheels without tire pressure sensors. When replacing any wheel, use only a genuine wheel specified by the manufacturer.
•When replacing tires, check that the tire size is as specified in the “Tire Placard”, otherwise the tire pressure sensor may be broken as it comes in contact with the bead of tire.
•For precautions to be taken when diagnosing troubles of the TPMS equipped vehicle, refer to Precautions for Diagnosing Trouble.
