Wheel (with Tire) Removal and Installation

Removal
NOTICE:
Using heat to loosen a tight wheel bolt for removal may shorten the life of the wheel and damage the wheel bearings.
Never use heat to loosen a wheel bolt for removal.
2)Hoist vehicle.
3)Remove wheel with tire.
Installation
NOTE:
There are two types of brake disc as follows:
Type A: Brake disc fixed on wheel hub with brake disc screw
Type B: Brake disc not fixed on wheel hub where brake disc screw is not used
When installing wheel on type B brake disc, align wheel hub screw hole with wheel bolt hole of brake disc.
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Check for buildup of corrosion / foreign material on mating surfaces of wheel and brake disc, and remove any buildup if any.
•Check for roughness, scoring or stepped wear on seat of wheel holes and on bolt taper surfaces, and if any abnormality is found, repair or replace wheel bolt and/or wheel.
•Check that any foreign material, rust, oil and grease are removed from thread part of wheel hub and wheel bolt.
•Install each wheel bolt by hand and if it is not screwed until bolt comes in contact with seat of wheel hole or any abnormality is found, replace wheel bolt and/or wheel hub.
•Tighten wheel bolts in sequence as shown in figure and to specified torque.
•Check for roughness, scoring or stepped wear on seat of wheel holes and on bolt taper surfaces, and if any abnormality is found, repair or replace wheel bolt and/or wheel.
•Check that any foreign material, rust, oil and grease are removed from thread part of wheel hub and wheel bolt.
•Install each wheel bolt by hand and if it is not screwed until bolt comes in contact with seat of wheel hole or any abnormality is found, replace wheel bolt and/or wheel hub.
•Tighten wheel bolts in sequence as shown in figure and to specified torque.
Tightening order
“A” – “B” – “C” – “D” – “E”
