DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
| DTC detecting condition | Trouble area |
|---|---|
|
P0721-31: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – No Signal Vehicle speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•Vehicle speed is greater than a specified value. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Even gear is engaged. |
•CAN communication line
•Wheel speed sensor and/or its circuit •ESP® control module •TCM |
|
P0721-61: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Signal Calculation Failure This DTC is detected if the following conditions are met.
•Absolute value (vehicle speed – (deducts) vehicle speed calculated by even clutch speed) is higher than specified value. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Absolute value (vehicle speed – (deducts) vehicle speed calculated by engine speed) is higher than specified value. |
|
|
P0721-81: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Invalid Serial Data Received Invalid vehicle speed (output speed) signal is received from ESP® control module via CAN. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up) |
|
|
P0721-83: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect This DTC is detected if the following conditions are met.
•Absolute value (vehicle speed – (deducts) vehicle speed calculated by odd clutch speed) is higher than specified value. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Absolute value (vehicle speed – (deducts) vehicle speed calculated by engine speed) is higher than specified value. |
|
|
P0721-85: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Signal Above Allowable Range Vehicle speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•During gear change. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Actual gear is 2nd, 4th or 6th. •Even gear clutch speed is greater than a specified value. |
|
|
P0721-86: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Signal Invalid Vehicle speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•Vehicle speed is greater than a specified value. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Odd gear is engaged. |
|
|
P0721-87: Output Speed Sensor Circuit Range / Performance – Missing Message Vehicle speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•During gear change. (1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)•Actual gear is 3rd or 5th. •Odd gear clutch speed is greater than a specified value. |
•CAN communication line
•Wheel speed sensor and/or its circuit •ESP® control module •TCM |
DTC Confirmation Procedure
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
•Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
•Perform the test extremely carefully.
•Perform the road test with 2 persons, a driver and a tester.
•Perform the test extremely carefully.
•Perform the road test with 2 persons, a driver and a tester.
NOTE:
•Check that the following condition is satisfied in this procedure.
—11 V < Battery voltage < 15 V
•Check that the following DTC is not detected in this “DTC Confirmation Procedure.”
—CAN communication (U0121-87)
1)Start engine and drive vehicle.
