DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area
DTC detecting condition Trouble area
P0725-31: Engine Speed Input – No Signal
Engine speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•Vehicle speed is greater than a specified value.
•Actual gear is not neutral.
•Odd clutch speed is greater than a specified value.
(1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)
•CAN communication line
•ECM
•TCM
P0725-87: Engine Speed Input – Missing Message
Engine speed signal is not inputted although the following conditions are satisfied:
•Vehicle speed is greater than a specified value.
•Actual gear is not neutral.
•Even clutch speed is greater than a specified value.
(1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)
P0726-81: Engine Speed Input Circuit Range / Performance – Invalid Serial Data Received
This DTC is detected if the following conditions are met.
•Absolute value (engine speed – (deducts) odd clutch speed) is higher than specified value.
•Absolute value (engine speed – (deducts) engine speed calculated by vehicle speed) is higher than specified value.
(1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)
P0726-86: Engine Speed Input Circuit Range / Performance – Signal Invalid
This DTC is detected if the following conditions are met.
•Absolute value (engine speed – (deducts) even clutch speed) is higher than specified value.
•Absolute value (engine speed – (deducts) engine speed calculated by vehicle speed) is higher than specified value.
(1 D/C detection logic but transmission warning light does not light up)
P1706-83: Torque Request Communication Error From TCM – Value of Signal Protection Calculation Incorrect
ECM received Invalid signal from TCM via CAN.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
If you do not select a suitable route and take proper precautions when performing a road test, an accident can occur.
•Select a level road with no traffic to minimize the risk of accident.
•Perform the test extremely carefully.
•Perform the road test with 2 persons, a driver and a tester.
NOTE:
•Check that the following condition is satisfied in this procedure.
—11 V < Battery voltage < 15 V
•Check that the following DTCs are not detected in this “DTC Confirmation Procedure.”
—CAN communication (U0073-88 and U0100-87)
1)Start engine and drive vehicle.
