TCM Removal and Installation

NOTICE:
As the TCM consists of precision parts, the TCM will be damaged if it is exposed to an excessively large impact.
Handle the TCM carefully so as not to impact it.
Removal
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2)Hoist vehicle.
3)Remove left front fender lining. 
4)Remove TCM & smart drive unit cover (1) removing clips (2).
5)Disconnect smart drive unit connector.
6)Release lock lever (1) by pulling it in arrow direction and then disconnect TCM connector (2).
7)Disconnect TCM connector (3) in the same manner as Step 5).
8)Remove TCM bracket (1) by removing bolts (2).
9)Remove TCM (1) from bracket (2).
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following point.
