Expansion Valve Removal and Installation

Precautions: General safety (00)

Removal
1)Recover refrigerant from A/C system using recovery and recycling equipment referring to “Recovery” in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge:Manual Type.
2)For HFC-134a model, remove suction pipe bolt (1), and then remove liquid pipe and suction pipe from expansion valve (2).
3)For HFO-1234yf model, remove inner heat exchanger pipe bolt (3), and then remove inner heat exchanger pipe from expansion valve.
4)Remove expansion valve bolts (4) and remove expansion valve.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Apply compressor oil to O-rings of expansion valve and pipes.
Petrol model (HFC-134a): Compressor oil 99000–99095–00A (MITSUBISHI S10X)
Petrol model (HFO-1234yf): Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
Diesel model: Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
•Tighten expansion valve bolts (1) and suction pipe bolt (HFC-134a) (2) or inner heat exchanger pipe bolt (HFO-1234yf) (3) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Expansion valve bolt (a): 3.5 N·m (0.36 kgf-m, 2.5 lbf-ft)
Suction pipe bolt (HFC-134a) (b): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Inner heat exchanger pipe bolt (HFO-1234yf) (c): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
