SDM Removal and Installation

WARNING:
If the SDM is handled roughly when performing the service operations described below, there is a risk of personal injury due to accidental activation of the air bag system.
Read Precautions for Air Bag System Service before starting the operations described below and follow all of the instructions provided.
Removal
1)Disable air bag system. 
2)Remove floor console rear box.
3)Remove SDM (1) as follows.
a)Remove SDM bolts (2).
b)Turn lock lever (3) in arrow direction “1” until it stops.
c)Disconnect SDM connectors (4) by pulling it in arrow direction “2”.
d)Remove SDM.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Check that none of the following faulty conditions exists.
—Bend, scratch, deformation on mating surface of vehicle body where SDM is mounted
—Foreign material or rust on mating surface of vehicle body where SDM is mounted
•Install SDM (1) as follows.—Foreign material or rust on mating surface of vehicle body where SDM is mounted
a.Check that arrow (2) on SDM points toward front of vehicle.
b.Insert SDM connectors (3) in arrow direction “1”.
c.Turn lock lever (4) in arrow direction “2” until it stops.
d.Tighten SDM bolts (5) to specified torque.
•Enable air bag system. b.Insert SDM connectors (3) in arrow direction “1”.
c.Turn lock lever (4) in arrow direction “2” until it stops.
d.Tighten SDM bolts (5) to specified torque.
