Forward Impact Sensor Removal and Installation

WARNING:
Failure to take proper precautions when handling the air bag system sensors can result in personal injury due to non-deployed air bag system in the event of an accident or accidental air bag deployment.
•Never impact or shake the sensors.
Otherwise, proper operation of the sensors cannot be assured.
•Always tighten the mounting bolts to specified torque when installing the sensors. Otherwise, proper operation of the sensors cannot be assured.

Removal
1)Disable air bag system. 
2)Hoist vehicle a little and remove wheel.
3)Remove front fender lining.
4)Disconnect forward impact sensor connector (2) as follows.
a)Release locking slider (1) by sliding it in arrow direction “1”.
b)Disconnect forward impact sensor connector by pulling it in arrow direction “2”.
5)Remove forward impact sensor bolt (3) and remove forward impact sensor (4) from apron side member (5).
Installation
1)Check that none of the following faulty conditions exists.
•Bend, deformation or rust on apron side member
•Foreign material on sensor
•Direct arrow (1) on forward impact sensor frontward
•Foreign material on sensor
•Direct arrow (1) on forward impact sensor frontward
2)Align mounting pin (1) to mounting hole (2) of vehicle to install forward impact sensor (3).
3)Tighten forward impact sensor bolt to specified torque.
4)Connect forward impact sensor connector securely.
5)Install front fender lining.
6)Install wheel.
7)Enable air bag system.
