Precautions for Servicing RBS System

When servicing a vehicle for any of the following items, the millimeter wave radar detects unexpected object and the automatic brake could work suddenly. Therefore, disable RBS by pushing the RBS OFF switch or ESP® OFF switch for a long time and turn on RBS OFF light beforehand.
•When checking the vehicle on a speedometer tester or free rollers.
•When the vehicle is towed by another vehicle.
•When driving the vehicle without completion of the “Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming Adjustment”.
•When driving the vehicle which might have been exposed to impact at around front bumper i.e. the vehicle involved in an accident.
•When loading the vehicle on a car carrier truck.
•When the vehicle runs with a spare tire or tire chains fitted.
•When the vehicle runs with an emergency repaired tire fitted.
•When the vehicle is hoisted and the tires are rotated with engine running.
•When the vehicle races in a circuit etc.
•When the vehicle is loaded on or unloaded from a ferry.
•When the vehicle moves into an automobile elevator or parking garage with elevators.
•When the automatic brake works many times unexpectedly.
•When the vehicle is towed by another vehicle.
•When driving the vehicle without completion of the “Millimeter Wave Radar Aiming Adjustment”.

Without observing the following precautions, RBS may malfunction.
•Do not affix sticker including clear film or paint (*1) on millimeter wave radar cover.
•Do not modify the suspension.
•Do not use tires other than the specified size.
•Do not use worn tires or mix tires of different wear.
•Use tires adjusted to the specified pressure.
