INSTALLATION

BOOT - HEADLAMP BULB

CAUTION: Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.




1. Position the low beam boot (3) or high beam boot (1) to the back of the front lamp unit housing.
2. Push the inner circumference of the low beam boot or high beam boot down and around the bulb collar formation on the back of the lamp reflector as necessary to fully engage the boot to the reflector.
3. Push the outer circumference of the low beam boot or high beam boot down and around the boot collar formation on the back of the lamp housing as necessary to fully engage the boot to the housing.
4. Reinstall the low or high beam headlamp bulb into the front lamp. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION - HEADLAMP BULB).
5. Reinstall the front lamp unit onto the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION).

COVER - EXPORT




1. Slide the forward edge of the front lamp unit cover (1) under the two tabs (3) on the top near the front of the lamp housing.
2. Using hand pressure, press downward over each of the two snap features near the inboard side and the rear edge of the cover until they snap into the two upper lamp mounting brackets.

LAMP




1. Check to be certain that the three front lamp unit plastic nuts (4) are properly installed and in good condition.
2. Position the lamp (1) close enough to the front of the vehicle to reconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector (5) to the pigtail connector on the back of the lamp housing.
3. Position the lamp to the front of the vehicle. Be certain that the lower inboard lamp mounting bracket is captured between the metal mounting bracket on the top of the front frame crossmember and the tab of the plastic front fascia reinforcement. Push the tab of the front fascia reinforcement forward far enough for lamp mounting bracket clearance while maneuvering the lamp unit outboard during installation.
4. If equipped, install the push pin fastener (2) that secures the upper outboard lamp mounting bracket to the top of the radiator yoke hydroform.
5. Install and tighten the three screws (3) that secure the two lower and the upper inboard lamp mounting brackets to the front end sheet metal. Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (16 in. lbs.).
6. If the engine fresh air intake tube was removed during lamp removal, position it between the lamp and the radiator yoke hydroform and snap it into the air cleaner housing.
7. Reinstall the grille onto the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/GRILLE - INSTALLATION).
8. Reinstall the front lamp unit cover over the top of the lamp. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION - COVER).
9. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
10. Confirm proper headlamp alignment. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR - STANDARD PROCEDURE - FRONT LAMP AIMING).

BULB - HEADLAMP

CAUTION: Always use the correct bulb size and type for replacement. An incorrect bulb size or type may overheat and cause damage to the lamp, the socket or the lamp wiring.

CAUTION: Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.




1. Align the low beam (2) or high beam (1) bulb base with the keyed opening on the back of the reflector.
2. Insert the bulb and base into the reflector until the base is firmly seated.
3. Rotate the base clockwise about 30 degrees to lock it into place.
4. Reconnect the pigtail wire connector to the connector receptacle integral to the bulb base on the back of the front lamp unit housing (5).
5. Reinstall the front lamp unit cover over the top of the lamp. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION - COVER).
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

BULB - PARK/TURN SIGNAL

CAUTION: Always use the correct bulb size and type for replacement. An incorrect bulb size or type may overheat and cause damage to the lamp, the socket or the lamp wiring.




1. Align the base of the bulb with the park/turn signal bulb socket (4).
2. Push the bulb straight into the socket until the base is firmly seated.
3. Align the socket and bulb with the keyed opening on the back of the front lamp unit housing (5).
4. Insert the socket and bulb into the housing until the socket is firmly seated.
5. Rotate the socket clockwise about 30 degrees to lock it into place.
6. Reinstall the front lamp unit cover over the top of the lamp. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION - COVER).
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

BULB - POSITION LAMP

CAUTION: Always use the correct bulb size and type for replacement. An incorrect bulb size or type may overheat and cause damage to the lamp, the socket or the lamp wiring.

NOTE: The following procedure applies only to vehicles manufactured for export markets. Vehicles manufactured for North American markets do not have a position lamp bulb, socket or wiring provided in the front lamp unit.




1. Align the base of the bulb with the position lamp bulb socket (6).
2. Push the bulb straight into the socket until the base is firmly seated.
3. Align the socket and bulb with the keyed opening on the back of the front lamp unit housing (4).
4. Insert the socket and bulb into the housing until the socket is firmly seated.
5. Rotate the socket clockwise about 30 degrees to lock it into place.
6. Reinstall the front lamp unit onto the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION).

BULB - SIDE MARKER

CAUTION: Always use the correct bulb size and type for replacement. An incorrect bulb size or type may overheat and cause damage to the lamp, the socket or the lamp wiring.

NOTE: The following procedure applies only to vehicles manufactured for the North American market. Vehicles manufactured for export markets do not have a bulb, socket or wiring provided to illuminate the front side marker compartment of the front lamp unit. The front side marker lens is present, but serves only as a reflector on export market vehicles.




1. Align the base of the bulb with the front side marker bulb socket (3).
2. Push the bulb straight into the socket until the base is firmly seated.
3. Align the socket and bulb with the keyed opening on the back of the front lamp unit housing (5).
4. Insert the socket and bulb into the housing until the socket is firmly seated.
5. Rotate the socket clockwise about 30 degrees to lock it into place.
6. Reinstall the front lamp unit onto the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION).

VENT




1. Align the new vent (1) to the vent chimney formation (3) on the back of the lamp housing.
2. Using hand pressure, press the vent firmly and evenly onto the chimney until the vent latch features (2) are fully engaged.
3. Reinstall the front lamp unit onto the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/FRONT LAMP UNIT - INSTALLATION).
