REMOVAL

BULB - HEADLAMP - DOMESTIC

CAUTION: Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the headlamp unit (1) from the mounting collar (3). (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/HEADLAMP UNIT - DOMESTIC - REMOVAL).
3. Using the tabs on each side of the headlamp bulb connector receptacle (2), firmly grasp the bulb base and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
4. Pull the bulb and base straight out from the keyed opening in the headlamp unit.

BULB - HEADLAMP - EXPORT

CAUTION: Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the headlamp unit (1) from the mounting collar (3). (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/HEADLAMP UNIT - EXPORT - REMOVAL).
3. Remove the rubber headlamp boot seal (2) from the back of the headlamp housing and the headlamp bulb base (4).
4. Removal of the boot seal from the headlamp unit housing will reveal the wire retainer for the headlamp bulb.
5. Pinch the two ends of the wire retainer together and disengage them from the hooks that secure them against the bulb flange on the headlamp housing.
6. Pivot the wire retainer up off of the flange of the headlamp bulb base and out of the way.
7. Pull the bulb straight out of the keyed opening in the headlamp housing.

LAMP - DOMESTIC




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the grille panel from the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/GRILLE - REMOVAL).
3. Remove the four screws (4) that secure the retainer (3) and the headlamp unit (2) to the mounting collar (1) on the face of the front end module carrier.
4. Pull the retainer and the headlamp unit away from the front of the vehicle far enough to access the wiring connection on the back of the lamp housing.
5. Disconnect the engine compartment wire harness connector from the headlamp bulb connector receptacle.
6. Remove the headlamp unit from the vehicle.

LAMP - EXPORT




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the grille panel from the front of the vehicle. (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/GRILLE - REMOVAL).
3. Remove the four screws (4) that secure the retainer (3) and the headlamp unit (2) to the mounting collar (1) on the face of the front end module carrier.
4. Pull the retainer and the headlamp unit away from the front of the vehicle far enough to access the wiring connection on the back of the lamp housing.
5. Disconnect the engine compartment wire harness connectors from the headlamp bulb connector receptacle and from the position lamp bulb pigtail connector (5).
6. Remove the headlamp unit from the vehicle.

BULB - POSITION LAMP

NOTE: The following procedure applies only to vehicles manufactured for export markets. Vehicles manufactured for domestic markets do not have a position lamp bulb, socket or wiring provided in the headlamp unit.




1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the headlamp unit (1) from the mounting collar (3). (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/LAMPS/LIGHTING - EXTERIOR/HEADLAMP UNIT - EXPORT - REMOVAL).
3. Firmly grasp the position lamp socket (5) and pull it straight out of the rubber grommet in the headlamp unit housing.
4. Rotate the bulb counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it from the socket.
5. Pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
