DUCT, Floor Distribution

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

WARNING:

Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable. Wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.



NOTE:

DRIVER SIDE

NOTE:

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

    2.  
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/COVER, Steering Column Opening - Removal) .

    3.  
  3. Disconnect the floor duct (1) from the driver side of the air distribution housing (2) and remove the duct.

PASSENGER SIDE

  1. Remove the instrument panel and place it on a workbench (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/PANEL, Instrument - Removal) .

  2. Remove the HVAC housing assembly from the instrument panel (Refer to 24 - Heating and Air Conditioning/Distribution/HOUSING, HVAC - Removal) .

  3. Disconnect the floor duct (1) from the passenger side of the air distribution housing (2) and remove the duct.

DRIVER SIDE

NOTE:

  1. Connect the floor duct (1) to the driver side of the air distribution housing (2). Make sure the duct is fully engaged to the housing.

  2. Install the steering column opening cover (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/COVER, Steering Column Opening - Installation) .

  3. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

PASSENGER SIDE

  1. Connect the floor duct (1) to the passenger side of the air distribution housing (2). Make sure the duct is fully engaged to the housing.

  2. Install the HVAC housing assembly into the instrument panel (Refer to 24 - Heating and Air Conditioning/Distribution/HOUSING, HVAC - Installation) .

  3. Install the instrument panel (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/PANEL, Instrument - Installation) .
