COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
  • The conditions for cancelling the adaptive cruise control (ACC) system may be satisfied.
  • The fail-safe function is probably cancelling ACC system. In this case, checking the DI and MPI system, ASC system and electric parking brake system diagnosis codes.
 
 
PROBABLE CAUSES
  • Malfunction of the cruise control switch
  • Malfunction of the stop lamp switch
  • Malfunction of the ACC/FCM-ECU
  • Malfunction of the DI and MPI system
  • Malfunction of the ASC system
  • Malfunction of the electric parking brake system
 
 
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the DI and MPI system data list.
Using M.U.T.-IIISE, check the DI and MPI system data list (Refer to GROUP 13A - Troubleshooting, Data List Reference Table ).
  • Item No.74: Stop lamp switch
  • Item No.89: Brake switch
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Check Stop lamp switch system. Check code No. P0504: Malfunction of the Stop Lamp Switch System (Refer to ).
 
STEP 2. Check the cruise control switch.
Refer to .
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the cruise control switch (Refer to ).
 
STEP 3. Check the symptom.
Confirm whether a trouble symptom reappears when the ACC cancellation conditions are not satisfied (For details, refer to the relevant Technical Information Manual - GROUP 17 - Adaptive Cruise Control System).
Is the adaptive cruise control cancelled?
Replace the ACC/FCM-ECU (Refer to ).
It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
