EGR-1 Valve Removal and Installation
Precautions: General safety (00)
NOTE:
If EGR-1 valve is replaced, initialize EGR-1 valve data in ECM. For detail, refer to Description of ECM Registration:D16AA.
Removal
1)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
2)Remove engine cover. 
3)Disconnect connector (2) from EGR-1 valve.
4)Remove EGR-1 valve (1) and gasket from EGR-1 valve mounting.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Clean mating surfaces of EGR-1 valve mounting and EGR-1 valve.
•Use new gasket and O-ring.
•Tighten EGR-1 valve bolts to specified torque.
•When replacing EGR-1 valve, initialize EGR-1 valve data in ECM.
•Use new gasket and O-ring.
•Tighten EGR-1 valve bolts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
EGR-1 valve bolt* (a): 6.0 N·m → 10 N·m (0.62 kgf-m → 1.0 kgf-m, 4.5 lbf-ft → 7.5 lbf-ft)
