Compressor Assembly Removal and Installation
Precautions: General safety (00)
Removal
1)Recover refrigerant from A/C system using recovery and recycling equipment referring to “Recovery” in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge:Manual Type.
2)Disconnect negative (–) cable at battery.
4)Remove engine undercover.
5)For diesel model, remove suction & discharge hose bracket bolt (1) from suction & discharge hose bracket (2).
6)Disconnect magnet clutch lead wire connector (petrol model) (1) or compressor ON/OFF valve connector (diesel model) (2).
7)For diesel model, remove harness ground nut (3), and then remove washer (4).
8)For petrol model (HFO-1234yf), remove suction hose clamp bolt (1).
9)Disconnect discharge hose (2) and suction hose (3) (petrol model) or suction & discharge hose (4) (diesel model) from compressor (5).
NOTE:
Cap open fittings immediately to keep moisture out of the system.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•If compressor is replaced, replenish A/C system with new compressor oil referring to “Replenishing Compressor Oil” in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge:Manual Type.
•Apply compressor oil to new O-rings of discharge hose and suction hose.
•Tighten discharge hose bolt (1) and suction hose bolt (2) (petrol model) or suction & discharge hose bolt (3) (diesel model) to specified torque.
Compressor mounting bolt (Diesel model) (b): 28 N·m (2.9 kgf-m, 21.0 lbf-ft)
Discharge hose bolt (c): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Suction hose bolt (d): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Suction & discharge hose bolt (e): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
•For diesel model, install harness (1) and washer (2), and then tighten harness ground nut (3) to specified torque.
•Adjust drive belt.
•Evacuate and charge A/C system referring to “Evacuation” and “Charge” in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge:Manual Type.
•Apply compressor oil to new O-rings of discharge hose and suction hose.
Petrol model (HFC-134a): Compressor oil 99000–99095–00A (MITSUBISHI S10X)
Petrol model (HFO-1234yf): Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
Diesel model: Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
•Tighten compressor mounting bolts in numerical order (“1” – “3”) or (“1” – “4”) to specified torque as shown in figure.Petrol model (HFO-1234yf): Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
Diesel model: Compressor oil 99000–990B7–00A (Compressor oil (ND-OIL12))
•Tighten discharge hose bolt (1) and suction hose bolt (2) (petrol model) or suction & discharge hose bolt (3) (diesel model) to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Compressor mounting bolt (Petrol model) (a): 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.5 lbf-ft)Compressor mounting bolt (Diesel model) (b): 28 N·m (2.9 kgf-m, 21.0 lbf-ft)
Discharge hose bolt (c): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Suction hose bolt (d): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
Suction & discharge hose bolt (e): 11 N·m (1.1 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
•Adjust drive belt.
•Evacuate and charge A/C system referring to “Evacuation” and “Charge” in Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge:Manual Type.
