Curtain Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal and Installation (8, 9 or 11-Channel Air Bag System)

WARNING:
Failure to take proper precautions when performing service on the curtain air bag (inflator) module can result in personal injury or non-activation of the air bag in the event of a collision.
•Never disassemble or repair an air bag (inflator) module. If any abnormal condition is found, replace the module with a new one.
•Carefully read Precautions for Air Bag System Service, Precautions for Handling and Storage of Air Bag System Components and Precautions for Disposal of Air Bag and Seat Belt Pretensioner and follow all of the instructions provided.
•Do not install curtain air bag (inflator) module while twisted or bent. Otherwise, curtain air bag (inflator) module may not deploy and injury may result.
•Carefully read Precautions for Air Bag System Service, Precautions for Handling and Storage of Air Bag System Components and Precautions for Disposal of Air Bag and Seat Belt Pretensioner and follow all of the instructions provided.
•Do not install curtain air bag (inflator) module while twisted or bent. Otherwise, curtain air bag (inflator) module may not deploy and injury may result.
NOTICE:
An air bag (inflator) module that has been dropped may not operate correctly.
Never use an air bag (inflator) module that has been dropped. Replace the module with a new one.
NOTE:
Refer to Repair and Inspection Required after Accident before replacing a deployed air bag.
Removal
1)Disable air bag system. 
2)Remove front pillar trim, center pillar upper trim and rear quarter inner upper trim.
3)Remove head lining.
4)Disconnect curtain air bag (inflator) module connector (1) as shown in figure.
a)Release lock button (2).
b)Disconnect curtain air bag (inflator) module connector with lock released.
5)Remove curtain air bag (inflator) module bolts and remove curtain air bag (inflator) module.
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
•Install curtain air bag (inflator) module as follows.
a.Install curtain air bag (inflator) module (1) without twisting.
b.For positioning curtain air bag (inflator) module, insert metal hooks (2) to body slits (3).
c.Install new pre-coated curtain air bag (inflator) module bolts and tighten them to specified torque.
•Enable air bag system. b.For positioning curtain air bag (inflator) module, insert metal hooks (2) to body slits (3).
NOTE:
d.Lock connector for curtain air bag (inflator) module securely.Check that each bracket of clamping part to body panel is securely fixed after tightening curtain air bag (inflator) module bolts.
