P1644: Immobilizer ID Mismatched
Verification error between ECM and keyless entry control module.
•Ignition key
•ECM ID code is not registered in keyless entry control module
•Ignition key is not registered
•Immobilizer control module circuit / connector
•Immobilizer control module
•Keyless entry control module power supply / ground circuit
•ECM
•Keyless entry control module
DTC Troubleshooting
NOTE:
If keyless entry control module is used in another vehicle before, ignition key cannot be registered. Always install new keyless entry control module whenever replacement is necessary.

DTC check
1)Set ignition “OFF” and leave ignition “OFF” for 5 seconds or more.
2)Set ignition “ON”.
3)Recheck DTC.
Is current DTC P1644 detected?
Go to Step 2.
Check for intermittent trouble. icon

DTC check
1)Check DTC in keyless entry control module. icon 
Is DTC B1188 or B1189 detected?
Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC.
Go to Step 3.

Keyless entry control module power supply and ground circuit check
1)Check keyless entry control module power supply and ground circuits. icon 
Is check result OK?
Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace defective wire harness.
4
ECM registration
2)Check that ignition is “OFF”.
3)Set ignition “ON”.
4)Recheck DTC.
Is DTC P1644 still detected?
Go to Step 5.
End. (ECM was not registered)

Ignition key registration
1)Perform “Immobilizer Key Registration”. icon 
2)Check that ignition is “OFF”.
3)Set ignition “ON”.
4)Recheck DTC.
Is DTC P1644 still detected?
Replace ECM and recheck DTC. If DTC P1644 is still detected, replace keyless entry control module and recheck DTC.
